PROGRAM AND GUESTS

This year, we're excited to explore the hot field of social impact and how it can/does intersect with policymaking.

Leading the evening is special guest and keynote, LBJ School alumna Lisa Graham, owner and founder of social impact venture capital firm Notley Ventures. Notley is a well-known leader in Austin’s rapidly growing social innovation space with numerous major initiatives including the Philanthropitch competition for nonprofits, the Center for Social Innovation co-working space, and the Notley Fellowship program for social sector leaders. Lisa’s path as a policy analyst, nonprofit leader, and social innovation accelerator gives her a unique perspective and approach to tackling today’s many social challenges.

We will also hear from our own expert CHASP Faculty Fellows as they discuss the opportunities and questions around social innovation and entrepreneurship when it comes to bringing about social change and reducing disparities:

  • Cynthia Osborne, Ph.D. - CHASP Director, Associate Dean for Academic Strategies at the LBJ School of Public Affairs, demographer and family policy scholar, founder and director of the Child and Family Research Partnership
  • Michael Hole, M.D., M.B.A. – Pediatrician, Assistant Professor at the Dell Medical School and the LBJ School of Public Affairs, Director of Social Entrepreneurship at the Texas Health CoLab at Dell Medical School, co-founder of national nonprofit StreetCred, 2016 Forbes 30 under 30 for social entrepreneurship
  • Meeta Kothare, Ph.D. – Adjunct Professor at the McCombs School of Business and LBJ School of Public Affairs, director of the Social Innovation Initiative at McCombs, founder and principal of consulting firm for nonprofits Neeva Solutions, former Board President and Director of Operations and Strategy of Impact Austin
